Sharon TK

Just a little behind the scenes from my Shoot with Spiral Stitching on Feb 28th. The shoot was a good times. Not much to update though! Got 2 new 1tb externals, which means 1 new 1tb external because of how I use them. either way, I wont need a new one for awhile.

Wednesday, went out to PDN and met with Jill Waterman and we talked about the business aspect of things as well as different things that PDN can offer to young photographers and working pro's. we had fun then I walked about 50 blocks in New York... lame.

well, that's all for now.

50 Megapixel Snap Shot!

So this past weekend SPE (Society for Photographic Education) came to town for their 40 something annual conference and trade show. It's basically photo geek heaven. Photographers from around the nation came out to this event to get a chance to have their portfolio review by some of the nations most well known photographers as well as sit in on some lectures and what have you. i met a few ;). Photo District News (PDN) made their appearance as well as Kodak, Fujifilm, Tamron, Hasselblad, Mamiya (with mac-on-campus), Canon, Nikon, Olympus and many more... There was also several photo shows that opened also because of SPE. My school, Uarts, hosted SPE's photo show on our campus... I managed to get 3 pieces in ;) ;) lol good times... we had kegs ^_^

Anyways, Hasselblad was there (like i said before) with their new H4D w/ the 50mpx back! and i got the pleasure of taking the camera around the con for a test drive... unfortunately since i wasn't in a controlled environment like it was when I got to test the Mamiya (we had the studio set up n' what not... good times, to read that test review,go here).

However, I was still impressed by the images i was getting. Straight out of the box the camera will produce a 35x25 image at 240 dpi, 16bit, ProPhoto color space (a 286.9mb image)... that's just processed out of Hasselblad's Phocus. I shot everything at ISO 400 which anyone that has experience with digital backs, they aren't the best with noise control at anything above ISO 50-100 because they are studio cameras, so High ISO noise control isn't really important (ISO 50 is always recommended... images come out with no noise at all and super sharp)... with this new back, the noise was actually not really as bad as I expected it to be when i brought the images up. The noise was fairly low, which is great. The clearity and sharpness from this camera is great! the images still look pretty sharp even though I was shooting at a pretty slow shutter, hand held. here are some of my snap shots ;)

Jean Miele, new photo friend! he had a show at my school not to long ago! it was awesome.

Hasselblad added this new selective focus thing

all in all, i'm still undecided on if i want the hasselblad digital back or the mamiya o.O I may go with something for my Mamiya since that way it'll be cheaper ;) lol we'll see.
